Question 1

Can a cobalt chrome ring be resized after I order it?

Accepted Answer

Cobalt chrome is an extremely hard metal, which means it **cannot be resized** by a jeweler the way a gold or silver ring can. Because this ring is made to order, getting your size right before you place the order is critical — take time to measure with our Manly Ring Sizer. Question 2

Is cobalt chrome safe for people with metal allergies?

Accepted Answer

Cobalt chrome is **generally considered hypoallergenic**, making it a solid choice for guys with sensitive skin or known reactions to metals like nickel. It won't oxidize or react with skin, so you can wear it daily without irritation.

Question 3

Which finish is easiest to maintain long-term?

Accepted Answer

**Satin and distressed** finishes are the most forgiving for everyday wear because minor scuffs blend right in with the texture. **Polished** finishes look stunning but will show fine surface marks more readily over time. **Hammered** sits in the middle — its texture masks small scratches while still having visual depth and character.

Question 4

What is the difference between the domed and flat styles?

Accepted Answer

**Domed** rings have a classic rounded top profile that catches light and feels traditional on the finger. **Flat** rings have a clean, modern square-edged silhouette. **Beveled** and **stepped edge** styles add angular detail at the band's edges, while **rounded edge** softens the flat look — all five styles are available in any width and finish combination.

Question 5

How do I clean and care for my cobalt chrome ring?

Accepted Answer

Cobalt chrome is low-maintenance — a quick rinse with warm water and mild soap, followed by a gentle pat dry with a soft cloth, is all it typically needs. Avoid harsh chemicals like bleach or chlorine, and store it separately from harder gemstone jewelry to keep the finish looking its best.

Question 6

How does cobalt chrome compare to tungsten in durability?

Accepted Answer

Cobalt chrome is extremely hard and fairly scratch resistant, but it has one key advantage over tungsten: it's **less brittle**, meaning it's less likely to crack or shatter under a sharp impact.

Question 7

Does the ring feel comfortable for all-day wear?

Accepted Answer

Cobalt chrome rings have a satisfying, **substantial weight** — noticeably heavier than titanium but lighter than tungsten — which many guys describe as a confident, premium feel on the finger. The interior is smooth and rounded, so it doesn't create pressure points even during extended wear.

Question 8

How do I make sure I order the right ring size?

Accepted Answer

Getting the right fit is the most important step before you build your band. Measure properly with our Manly Ring Sizer — ring size can fluctuate by time of day and temperature, so measuring more than once gives the most accurate result. [Find your size](https://manlybands.com/pages/find-my-size).
